The Story of Big Buck’s Barbecue & Taphouse
Tami and Dave’s story began in 2024 when they met online. Long before they met in person, they spent countless hours talking about life, sharing their dreams, and discovering they had one goal in common—to one day own a restaurant.
Their love for agriculture and the outdoors started long before they found each other. Tami grew up in 4-H, raising rabbits and spending much of her life caring for animals. Dave’s roots ran through rodeos and bull riding, where he learned resilience, determination, and the importance of never giving up. Today, they raise bucking bulls together, and if you ever have the chance to sit down with them, you’ll hear the incredible stories that shaped who they are.
After meeting in person a year later, they combined their love of cooking, canning, and backyard barbecue. What started as smoking meat for family and friends slowly became something much bigger—a dream that refused to stay just a dream.
With no investors, no financial backing, and no shortcuts, Tami and Dave built Big Buck’s Barbecue & Taphouse with their own two hands and their whole hearts. Every board, every recipe, every late night, and every sacrifice was fueled by passion, determination, and the unwavering support of a community that believed in them.
Big Buck’s quickly became more than just a restaurant. It became a gathering place. Families celebrated milestones there. Friends shared meals and laughter. Strangers became regulars, and regulars became family. The food spoke for itself, but it was the love behind every meal that kept people coming back.
Then, everything changed.
When the building unexpectedly went up for sale, Big Buck’s was forced to close its doors.
Losing the restaurant broke something inside of Tami and Dave. Years of sacrifice, hard work, and dreams seemed to disappear overnight. More than losing a business, they lost the home they had built—not only for themselves but for the community that had embraced them.
They stepped away for a while to regroup, heal, and remember why they started this journey in the first place.
One lesson Dave carried with him from his years as a bull rider never left him:
“Don’t stay down.”
That simple phrase has become their guiding light.
Now they’re climbing back into the saddle for one final ride.
With the support of their loyal customers, family, friends, and community, Tami and Dave are rebuilding Big Buck’s Barbecue & Taphouse from the ground up—starting once again in their own backyard, just as they did in the beginning.
The dream never died.
They are excited to share every step of this journey and bring back the home-cooked barbecue, smoked meats, and family atmosphere that made Big Buck’s so special. Every meal will continue to be made with passion, love, and gratitude for the people who have stood beside them through it all.
This isn’t just about rebuilding a restaurant.
It’s about rebuilding a home.
