We are so excited to share this beautiful illustration of "Tim's Workshop," as painted by Janet Hill! It shows the classroom and workshop we hope to one day build.
Janet's painting gets better the more you look at it! (Can you find a sack of cement? A drawer of buttons? A red canoe?)
Tim, Carmel, and others had long envisioned a classroom and workshop for Duluth Folk School that EVERYONE can access -- not just those who can climb stairs.
(In fact, you probably remember Tim helping us raise the funds last year for the architect plans!)
Unfortunately, Tim is no longer with us. But we hope to see this classroom realized, and name it "Tim's Workshop" to honor and cultivate the things he stood for.
It would help memorialize the best of Tim: a place for hundreds and hundreds of Duluthians to learn to use tools, materials, and their hands in new, inspiring ways.
But we could use your help. Building is expensive, and we're an organization of people that would rather teach woodworking and sewing than run a capital campaign. So if you would like to be a part of the fundraising team for Tim's Workshop, please reach out to us!
Otherwise, if you haven't already, please consider donating to our 10th Anniversary Fundraising campaign ("There's a Good World to Build"). Your contribution will help us pay operating expenses and have the extra capacity to pursue this capital campaign.

If you'd like your very own print of "Tim's Workshop," you can purchase one at Duluth Folk School -- all proceeds go to supporting Duluth Folk School, and our goal of more accessible classroom space.
