What a Saturday.

Iowa and Kansas at the Field of Dreams — corn in the outfield, a packed house, and about as good as an October afternoon in Iowa gets.

And you showed up for the kids. Over $1,000 in raffle tickets sold at the ballpark alone, which puts us past $2,000 raised and more than 300 coats collected so far this year.

Thank you to Alliant Energy, the Field of Dreams and KCRG TV-9 for making Saturday happen, and for standing behind Coats for Kids two years running.

Now let's finish strong — 19 days left.

The Hawkeye Basket raffle runs through October 31: four tickets to an Iowa Big Ten home basketball game, a signed hat from Gary Dolphin, and goodies from First Brewed, First Reserve and Dolph's Iron Bar. $5 a ticket, 5 for $20. Drawing November second.

Three ways to help — buy a ticket, drop off a coat, or add a donation to your receipt at the bar. All of it goes to putting winter coats on kids across the Tri-States.

300 coats is good. Let's make it a lot more!

🧥 Coats for Kids at the Field of Dreams! 🧥

This Saturday, Oct 10, join us at the Field of Dreams to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the Kansas Jayhawks! First pitch is at 1 PM.

Bring a new or gently used coat to donate and help keep kids in our community warm this winter.

This event is sponsored by KCRG TV9 News, Dolph's Iron Bar, Alliant Energy, and the Field of Dreams. Hear from Gary in the video, then come out and be part of it! ⚾🏈

☕ Big news — First Brewed is opening in our new location next to Dolph’s Iron Bar 333 E 10 th Street, Monday, September 21st! We are open from 7 am-2 pm M-Sat. And 8am-1pm Sun.

We're starting a little smaller than planned: due to a city building code requirement for our exhaust system (which we're actively scheduling and working through), we'll be serving pastries and our specialty fall & barista favorite drinks only for now — full kitchen service is coming soon.

Here's what will be ready for you Monday:

🧁 Pumpkin muffins with cream cheese icing
🍪 Apple butter snickerdoodle cookies

Come grab a fall latte and a pastry and help us kick off this new chapter! More menu items dropping as the kitchen comes fully online.

Today is our last day at our current location before we begin our next chapter and move into our new space! As we wrap things up, we have a limited selection of food items available, so be sure to stop in and grab your favorites while they last! 🥐☕️🍪

We also just want to take a moment to say thank you. Your support, kindness, and loyalty have meant more to us than we could ever put into words. We are so incredibly grateful for every coffee, conversation, and memory shared with us here.

While we’re sad to say goodbye to this space, we are so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to welcome you into our new home soon! 🥰
