🔥 Wing Wednesday at The Goose 🔥

We've been on a bit of a hot streak lately, and after last week's sauce brought some serious heat, we're dialing things back just a notch this week—not because we had to, but because sometimes it's nice to let the flavors do the talking.

This week's featured sauce:

Blackberry Jalapeño BBQ

Sweet blackberry blended with smoky BBQ sauce, fresh jalapeños, and a touch of lemon. Sticky, tangy, slightly sweet, and carrying just enough heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming the fruit.

📸 A Little Piece of 9th & Main History

It's wild to think how much this corner has changed over the years.

The top photo shows the corner of 9th & Main many decades ago. Back then, this section of the block was part of a much larger multi-story commercial building.

Over the course of the 20th century, several major fires damaged buildings along this stretch of Main Street. Rather than rebuilding the upper stories, many property owners removed them, leaving what was once a continuous row of three- and four-story buildings reduced to the one-story structures we see today.

When we purchased 920 Main Street, we knew we were becoming caretakers of a small piece of Dubuque history. Every old brick, patched wall, and odd architectural detail tells a story from a time when Main Street was lined with grand commercial buildings serving one of the busiest river cities in the Midwest.

Looking at these photos, it's hard not to imagine what Main Street would look like today if those upper stories had survived.

RIVER & HIS BAND LIVE AT THE GOOSE

Join us tomorrow, June 19th for an evening of original music from one of the region's most celebrated songwriters. River Glen returns to The Goose with his full band for a performance packed with rich harmonies, standout musicianship, thoughtful lyrics, and a sound that blends folk-pop, folk-rock, jazz, and hip-hop influences into something uniquely their own.

Fresh off the release of As Above, So Below—a collaborative project featuring more than 150 Iowa musicians—River is bringing the spotlight back to the stage with a powerhouse ensemble and a night of heartfelt, high-energy music.

The Backroads Tour rolls into Dubuque tonight featuring Joe Troop, Paisley Fields, and Sam Ness for an evening of incredible songwriting, storytelling, folk, Americana, and roots music. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

This special event is presented by Rural Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening rural communities through arts, culture, and connection. As these artists make their way across the Midwest, we're proud to host one of the tour stops right here in Dubuque.

If you're looking for something different than the usual Friday night, this is it. Come discover some outstanding regional talent, support independent musicians, and enjoy an intimate concert experience at The Goose.

We're excited to welcome the Backroads Tour to The Goose on Friday, June 12th featuring Joe Troop, Paisley Fields, and Sam Ness—three incredible artists bringing a unique blend of folk, Americana, roots, and storytelling music to Dubuque.

This special event is presented by Rural Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to building connections, strengthening rural communities, and creating opportunities through arts, culture, and community engagement. Their work helps bring talented independent artists to towns across the Midwest that might otherwise get overlooked on national tours.

As these musicians make their way across the Midwest leg of the Backroads Tour, we're proud to be one of their stops.
