A really frustrating part of rescue is seeing cats get adopted out into wonderful homes but seeing some truly amazing cats just continue to sit and wait. Some of them just don’t show well in adoption settings like a kennel at a petsmart or in a cat lounge. It’s stressful. And they show that stress by not wanting to interact with humans or getting overstimulated with interaction easily.
We have several kitties who really don’t show their best side with visitors in the lounge, but we know how sweet and wonderful they are and will be in a home when someone finally gives them that true forever chance. 💜

Sweet Georgia has a lot to say with her tiny little meow!
You can visit her in our North cat lounge where you will most likely find her weaving between someone’s legs asking for attention or sitting on her favorite scratcher😻

Update: it is fixed!

Because the AC gods know when Carrie is going out of town…
The air at our North lounge is on the fritz again this morning. Island Breeze is on the way out to take a look at it but since we don’t know the issue, we don’t know how long it will take to fix. The lounge is sitting at 83 with fans and we will bring in the swamp coolers if we need to but for now we are not going to go through that extra work just yet.
We will message everyone with reservations and also lower capacity for the day to keep it as cool as possible. Fortunately, the cats are still being their normal selves! 😸

Sweet Gemma found her furever home with one of our staff members!
Gemma had a hard start to her time with us after coming from a colony very sick and had a TON of medical care to get her healthy enough to be adoptable. Lily helped with many of her medications and treatments and while spending time with Gemma she was able to see how sweet she is and fell in love! 💜
