This Orchard Street building was tired when this photo was taken in 1969. Located on the former Davis Block, it had been home to various businesses dating back to the late 1800s, including a bookbinder, a printer, tailor shops, a bowling alley, a billiards hall, and a mattress and furniture store. When this photo was taken, the building was at risk of being demolished during urban renewal but was ultimately saved from the wrecking ball. As a result, we are lucky to have one of the longest-serving businesses to set up shop there, first as the Dover Brickhouse and now as The Brick. Do yourself a favor and check out The Brick tonight. Their new(ish) menu is fantastic.
