Yesterday was a MESSAGE for me. 🥹🙏🏾❤️ Can I SHARE🥹❤️💯🙏🏾
After a week of minor distractions and attacks coming from nowhere, I made up my mind that I wasn’t moving out of fear. I prayed, “God, lead me. I’m depending completely on You.” And while all of that was happening, God was quietly working some things out for me.

Then yesterday, before we even opened, cars were already waiting. My husband looked outside and said, “That’s that lady we haven’t seen in a long time.”

I looked up and said, “OMG… MS. HATTIE!” 🥹😍

I met Ms. Hattie about five years ago during my second year in business. From the very first time we met, something about her reminded me of my grandmother—her smile, her spirit, the way she talks to me, and most of all, she ALWAYS has a WORD. I’ll never forget her telling me, “Pay your tithes.” That was something my grandmother stayed on us about.

When I relocated two years ago, I hadn’t seen Ms. Hattie since. Yesterday she told me, “It wasn’t nothing but the Lord that helped me find y’all today.” She said something told her to drive through the parking lot, and when she saw the name she thought, “I think that’s my people.” 😭🙏🏾

She sat in that third booth just smiling at me, and it felt like my grandmother had come by to visit me for a little while. 🥹❤️
Before she left, she asked whether she should tip me or my daughter. I jokingly said, “Nope, this MY table!” 😂 But then I caught her doing something my grandmother used to do—she balled up some money, slipped it into my daughter’s hand, looked over at me and SMILED.

Y’all… I almost lost it. 🥹🥹🥹

And all day long, the people just kept coming. NONSTOP. What I had prayed and asked God for… HE DID IT.

Sometimes God doesn’t answer you with a loud announcement. Sometimes He sends a familiar smile, an elder with a word, a packed room, a little reminder—and says, “I heard you. Keep going.”

It feels so good to have a relationship with the Lord where you can recognize Him even in the smallest moments.

Yesterday wasn’t just a good business day. It was confirmation. 🙏🏾❤️

Never Forget Where You Came From ❤️

I started cooking at 8 years old.

Being the oldest sibling, my responsibilities looked a little different. I learned early how to help, how to care for others, and how powerful it was when family came together around a meal.

Back then, we had those grandmothers and Big Mamas who helped hold the family together. ❤️

The food was cooking.
Everybody was talking.
The kids were running around.
The grown folks were laughing.
And somehow, sitting around that table, you felt loved.

That stayed with me.

That’s a big part of why I created Just Like Mama’s.

I love seeing families walk through these doors, sit down together, put the phones away for a minute, talk, laugh, eat, and simply be together.

Because some of the best memories aren’t made at expensive places…

They’re made around a table, over a good meal, with the people you love.

Never forget where you came from.
Never forget the Big Mamas who fed everybody.
Never forget the conversations that happened over Sunday dinner.
And never underestimate what one meal can do for a family. ❤️

“Who does your cooking?”

😂😂 Me.

When you’re building something from the ground up, you wear a lot of hats.

I’m the chef.
I’m the bookkeeper.
I’m the owner.
I’m the purchaser.
I’m the content creator
I’m the problem solver…
…and sometimes I’m the dishwasher too! 😂

People tell me all the time,
“You need to hire somebody to do all that.”

And I laugh because then I’d be asking…
“Well, what am I supposed to do?” 😂

The truth is… I enjoy it.

I love being in my kitchen, and I love making sure every plate that leaves Just Like Mama’s is consistent and prepared with the same love every single time.

Now don’t get me wrong… I LOVE having an assistant to prep and get everything ready.

Once that’s done…

Baby, let me do my thang! 😂🔥
This isn’t just a job for me…
