🎪Step right up! After our fall break and a professional learning day, our first day of National School Lunch Week is today! The theme is Cafeteria Circus! 🎩🔮

Our team at Nicholls Elementary School sent us this tray, which includes some carnival favorites: pepperoni pizza, corn on the cob, crunch combination salad with homemade ranch dressing, SideKicks Italian ice, milk, and a chocolate cream cupcake (it's also )! 🍕🌽🥗🧁

During yesterday's Professional Learning Day, our teams participated in a GSNA local culinary competition, which helps our nutrition professionals showcase and develop their culinary skills.

Teams split up to work on three different recipes: Mixed Up Vegetable Side Dish (Colorful Garden Blend), Sweet & Savory Chicken Harvest Casserole, and Peach & Blueberry Cobbler. After completing their dishes, teams sent their finished recipes to judges for voting. This was so much fun and the dishes were AMAZING!

All three recipes will be entered in the District 8 competition in February. Winners from the district event will go on to the state-level competition. Representing Coffee County in the 8th District competition will be Jennifer Burkett (cobbler), Tanisha Biggins (vegetable side dish), and Ninja Hicks (chicken casserole).

🍕Pizza meets grilled cheese! Our cheese toast sandwich with pepperoni and marinara dipping sauce, whole kernel corn, fresh fruit salad, and milk.
