Tomorrow, April 3rd, marks 1 year since we opened here in Donnellson. It’s certainly come with its challenges. Winter was real tough. I’ve had to make some difficult decisions along the way. It’s been extremely difficult finding good help that would stick around. We’ve made some mistakes. We didn’t let them get us down.
Why would you want to open a restaurant there?, many said.
This has been my community since 2010. I’ve made a lot of new friends the past year! Unfortunately I’ve seen more loyal customers/friends pass away than I could have imagined.
My family has been my inspiration. My parents and my brother have helped me so much and I could never thank them enough. I met an amazing woman during this time that is immensely supportive and is extremely understanding when things don’t go as planned and I can’t get away to spend time with her. My kids have been amazing and have loved the experience, that not many kids get to experience.
It’s been a hell of a ride! Today we had our busiest Thursday ever! I think it’s fitting!
We had 4 new employees start the past few days with catering and the restaurant. They have performed amazingly!
I want to thank you!!! I thank you customers, because without you, we would have closed long ago. I thank you Kendall Brink and Kathy Brink! I am so blessed to have the most amazing parents on the planet! I thank Kevin Brink for always being there when I can’t do things on my own. My brother, like my dad, are 2 of the most amazing and influential men I’ve ever known! I want to thank my grandpa Massey for being possibly the most amazing man to walk this earth, and instilling the values that have influenced and motivated my entire family, and grandma Massey for being the amazing woman she was! I thank Catherine Asher for building me up when I have a bad day and need to vent and is always so supportive. I want to thank my nephew Kyle that comes to help at the drop of a hat when I have an HVAC issue.
I also want to thank all employees, past and present for your dedication, but especially Molly White for keeping the kitchen going strong on days I haven’t been able to be back there. I also want to thank Lily Hauskins, Samantha Vollintine, and Briley Redfurn. I hired these girls as 15 yr olds and it’s been amazing to watch them grow!
I want to thank other current employees, Brad(love having ya here buddy), Ronnie, Cindy, Kristin, and our newest 4 that have started off with a bang, Jake, Carter, Emma, and Gabby!! You’ve all done amazing having just started out!!!
I want to thank the Donnellson community and town for its support, as well as all surrounding towns that have supported us immensely!
I want to thank Grazin Guse for his recent review! There’s go doubt it’s had a positive impact on our business! I want thank our suppliers! I want to thank the local restaurants that have shared the love as well! I’m sorry but there are too many to list but you know who you are!!!
I want to thank a number of my friends as well! You know who you are as well!!! I’m a blessed man for having you all in my life!
