McFadden Nature Center is Hiring!
On Site - Donalsonville, GA
We are seeking a full-time Visitor Center Assistant to join our growing team and support guest services, events, and daily operations at McFadden Nature Center.
Position Details:
• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Onsite in Donalsonville, GA
• Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) required
• Some holidays required

About Us
The McFadden Nature Center began in 1999 as the Lokchasassa Wilderness Project, a 1,260-acre protected area dedicated to wetlands, native plants, and wildlife. Today, we continue that mission while preparing to open our Nature Center Museum in Spring 2027.
Our work is rooted in environmental education, conservation, and creating meaningful connections between people and nature.
Position Summary
This role supports daily operations of the Visitor Center and helps create welcoming, educational experiences for guests of all ages.
Responsibilities include:
• Greeting and assisting visitors, campers, and guests
• Providing excellent customer service and answering questions
• Operating point-of-sale systems and managing retail sales
• Assisting with events, reservations, and rentals (including golf carts)
• Maintaining cleanliness of facilities, grounds, and equipment
• Supporting landscaping tasks (mowing, w**d eating, watering, etc.)
• Assisting with administrative duties and reporting
Qualifications
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or on a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to perform physical tasks (lifting, walking, equipment use)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic technology
• Willingness to learn conservation practices and new skills
• Prior work experience (2+ years preferred)
• Must pass background check
• Must have reliable transportation
