I'd like to give a quick update on the building and then we will take some questions.
The building is progressing. FRP is being installed on the walls, and then we are ready to start the ceiling followed by HVAC. It's coming together, it just takes time. Patience is hard for this person (Kris) with ADD.
Do we know when we are opening? That is the million-dollar question and one that I wish I could give a definitive date. All I know is that we are progressing. I'm praying that it will be 2026!
Do we have a list of items that we still need? The answer is yes and we do have a wish list on Amazon. It is pinned to the top of our page.
Brittany will be handling the food menu, and Kris is taking care of the coffee side.
What kinds of questions do you have for us?

Hi friends and fans! We are making progress on the inside of the building and soon you'll see a fresh new look to the exterior. While this is going on, Brittany and I are working behind the scenes to get menus ready.
With that being said, I (Kris) need your feedback as we prepare drink options. I'd like to know what your favorite drink is at a coffee shop. What is your favorite syrup, and creamer option? Do you like hot or cold coffee? Would you like to have an option of having sealed coffees so you can take an extra coffee with you for later in the day, or if you are taking beverages to work?
I'm going to make a running tally of your opinions so that Beans-and-Bites can be ready for you when you come to our drive thru.

Oh Kevin Costner, we are getting somewhere!

The cafe' is taking on a look as you could see from the previous photo of the drywall. It has been taped and mud applied. The FRP walls will be installed in the very near future, followed by the installation of drop ceiling and then HVAC. Whew! I'm nervous, I'm anxious, I'm excited, and I'm freaking out all at the same time.
Soon it will be time for the floor installation, and then the fixtures start getting installed. Oh, my goodness! Very soon, I hope we'll have the window decals on so people can see as they drive by that BEANS-AND-BITES will be coming to this location!
Here's a question for our followers.... what kind of raffles would you like to see being promoted while we prepare for opening? We could do another side of beef and freezer, but we need a contact person for the beef. Can you share some names, please?

Someone inquired tonight, "Are you still opening Beans-and-Bites? I don't see the sign on the door anymore." YES! Yes, we are still progressing towards the finish line. The sign was taken down because it's time to install the new doors! Drywall starts next week, and then HVAC, followed by floors and then installing equipment. One day at a time, but we are moving closer. That's progress!

Thank you so so much to the Youth Philanthropy Groups at Gardner-South Wilmington Township High School, Seneca Township High School, and Morris High School, for awarding us with grants this evening! We are truly honored and thankful!

It is always so wonderful to hear the thought students put into these awards and we are incredibly honored to not only be thought of to speak to these schools during the school year but so thankful to be chosen to receive these grants!

Thank you to the Community Foundation of Grundy County and Devan Gagliardo for guiding the youth of our communities and allowing them to participate and be a part of something so big and meaningful!
