It is a misty, humid but still lovely morning in Devils Elbow. We just wanted to hop on and let you all know that tomorrow, Saturday the 5th from about 8-5 the Elbow Inn will be a stop along the Route 66 Yard sale. There will be multiple families set up out there selling various items as well as lemonade stand using 100% child labor. We aren't participating today.

However, the are several other folks in Devils Elbow that have sales today and tomorrow from 7-4. Our neighbors on the bluff at 20767 Trophy Lane have huge sale going and our friends at 21121 Teasley Lane are set up as well. There will be other families with yard sales along Devils Elbows beautiful stretch of Old 66 also.

Please drive by and support our amazing Devils Elbow community!

Thanks and have a wonderful day!

TOMORROW! Here's the list of 166 sales: http://www.lebanonroute66.com/today_66/166-yard-sales-on-or-near-route-66-this-friday-saturday/article_4043c920-30a9-11ee-8b22-37a8e92ed807.html?fbclid=IwAR22jUysekqHKo4--lcbxaTS2Cc0PL0Td2z88lSy4xGq4PygTbeokhHyN0E

We just wanted to drop a quick post to thank Laura of Johnstown, Ireland who was the first person to purchase some of our new Elbow Inn merch. Thank you to Laura and to all our other supporters!

We also wanted to share a new lot of items we created based on some requests from folks and we hope you like them too! We are adding more but there's a 20% off code currently and we wanted to share this today for anyone who's interested to be able to take advantage.

Have a great day!

In lieu of some updated interior photos, we wanted to share a link to the Elbow Inn store. We get messages quite often asking for t-shirts so we put this together for those who may be interested. Any profits from any purchases made will go directly into reopening and repairing the tavern. You can find t-shirts and more here:

www.zazzle.com/store/elbow_inn

We welcome any requests or ideas for Elbow Inn merch you may have, don't be shy. Just bear in mind our design team is small (it's us).
On our merch you will see our new exclusive logo featuring our mascot, Lucy (Lucille). The logo was designed by us and Lucy was inspired by our beloved Carol Lucille Thompson. (Logo and the inspiration photo are in this post) . With the inn currently owned and operated by two generations of feisty and fun Thompson women, we thought our mascot should reflect that. Tell us what you think of Lucy!

And lastly, we have a mailing address at our local historic Devils Elbow post office, just down the road. You can send us mail to:

Elbow Inn
P.O Box 373
Devils Elbow, Mo 65457

If you write we will send you an Elbow Inn post card in reply and/or maybe something fun back. *Please DON'T send bras. We have ONE last bra that will have a special place in the inn and she's special so stay tuned for that.*

We hope you all are having a fun, safe summer so far and are beating the heat somehow. Take care!

Hello Friends! We wanted to let you all know we have been busy at the inn and are working hard towards some final steps. We will have more substantial updates within the coming weeks. We are grateful for your continued support, encouragement and interest.

We also wanted to share this spectacular drone footage shot by our very own Brandt Miles. In this short video you will see The Elbow Inn, our gorgeous gravel bar and surrounding property, the historic Devils Elbow Bridge, "downtown" historic district, and of course the stunning Big Piney River and bluffs. Devils Elbow is one of the most beautiful and unique stretches along Route 66 and we are so proud to live in this incredible community. Have a wonderful day folks! More to come!

Hello friends,
Work continues at the inn and we will update progress at a future date. Sadly, we recently lost a beloved member of our family.

David Thompson was born September 30, 1956, the second child of Harold "Jug" Thompson and Carol Thompson. David passed away in April 2022 in his home, in Devils Elbow. Like many of the Thompson men, David was a man of many talents. David had a career as a hair stylist, he was a pit master, a long standing Department of Army civilian, and most importantly he was a father and grandfather.

David was preceeded in death by his brother, Eric Thompson and his parents, Carol and Harold Thompson. He is survived by his sister, Pamela Thompson, son Sean Thompson, daughter Cassie Thompson-Jones, grandson River Thompson, granddaughters Eleanor and Gwendolyn Jones, neices Amanda Thompson-Miles and Jayme Thompson-Burns, nephews Christopher Stewart and Clark Thompson as well as great nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends. He is dearly missed by us all.

We are having a Celebration of Life for David at The Elbow Inn on Saturday, May 14th.
*This is a PRIVATE event for FAMILY and FRIENDS.*

We would like to ask any travelers or members of the surrounding community that may drive by this weekend to please be respectful of our privacy on this day. And of course if you knew David, please stop in to see us and/or share your favorite memory in the comments. Thank you for your understanding.
