Every time I walk through Eastern Market, I'm reminded of why we chose to put WAKA right here. ☀️🧑🌾
This market has been feeding Detroit for well over a century, long before any of us arrived, and to stand among the vendors who've built that legacy, as a neighbor and not just a visitor, is something I don't take lightly.
The folks selling flowers, produce, cheese, and everything in between aren't just stalls next to ours. They're family to us now. We get to spend our days alongside them, and in return, we get to welcome people from every corner of Detroit, from across Michigan, and from much further away than that, all of them walking through our doors to share a meal and a story. That's the heart of this market, and we're proud to carry a small piece of it forward.
