Maple Coconut Pecan is here and itโ€™s bringing ALL the flavor!

This October specialty is the perfect mix of sweet maple, toasted coconut, and crunchy pecans. It's rich, buttery, nutty, and just decadent enough to make you forget you were only stopping in for one. It starts with a moist vanilla maple cake that we top with maple buttercream and then finish with toasted coconut, pecans, and a maple drizzle. Come treat yourself to a Maple Coconut Pecan cupcake at SmallCakes of Destin every Tuesday and Friday in October.

Turning real-life pups into buttercream art? Challenge accepted.

This sweet birthday cake for Marissa came with a fun challenge...recreating her two adorable dachshunds in buttercream! From their coloring to their little expressions, we did our best to bring their faces to life right on the cake. Custom cakes like this are always so special because they let us turn the things you love most into something delicious and memorable. We had so much fun with this one! If you have a special celebration coming up, weโ€™d love to help create something custom just for you.

This one was all about bringing the customerโ€™s vision together.

Our customer supplied these adorable teddy bear and hot-air-balloon decorations and asked us to create a cake that would complement them perfectly. We matched the soft blue, cream and warm neutral tones along with buttercream clouds to give everything one cohesive look, and the finished baby shower cake came together beautifully. We love working with inspiration pieces, toppers and decorations you already have to create a custom cake designed around your celebration. Planning a special celebration? Give Destin Smallcakes a call and let us create something special for you! 850-842-9002.

This cake required a little extra engineering.

For this K**b Creek loverโ€™s 63rd birthday, we created a bourbon barrel-inspired cake complete with a realistic wood-grain effect that was all done with buttercream. And yesโ€ฆthat is a real bottle of K**b Creek sitting on top. Because a full bottle of bourbon is definitely not something you can just set on a cake and hope for the best, we had to build custom internal supports specifically to hold the weight without crushing the cake or letting the bottle take a tumble. Add in the fondant ci**rs, barrel details, K**b Creek label and โ€œAged to Perfectionโ€ topper, and this one turned into a pretty incredible birthday centerpiece. Sometimes cake decorating is part baking, part art, and part structural engineering.

Happy 63rd Birthday to one very well-aged bourbon fan!
