Mother’s Day is a deeply special day for me. Today, I honor two beautiful women — my mother and my grandmother — who raised me to be the man I am today. They gave me a wealth of knowledge, life experience, and most importantly, taught me how to treat people with respect, kindness, and love… even complete strangers. My mother never met a stranger, and my grandmother treated everyone like family. Their hearts were pure, their love was endless, and their lessons continue to guide me every single day. Though they are both now in heaven, I feel them shining over me — over my restaurant, my friends, and the life I’m blessed to have. Everything I am becoming is because of the foundation they built in me.I hope you both are in heaven, proud of me — proud of what I am trying to be, the best I can be. Every day, I’m trying to make sure I make you proud and happy with the man I am still becoming. May God keep you both shining bright in heaven the way you always did here on earth. I love you; I miss you, and until we meet again, I will continue to live with the same heart, soul, love, and respect you taught me. Thank you for raising and shaping the man I am still becoming.
I’ll never stop learning, never stop listening, and never stop loving you.
Rest in peace, Mom and Grandma.
