How they get ya!

It’s really our fault, though.
We were too busy enjoying the last flickers of freedom to realize how badly they know nothing of its existence. By the time we realized they were being consumed it was too late.
This anti climactic status quo has made us and them complacent and accepting of a certain reparative Mellow dramatic norm. It’s like that perpetual fish concert. Where you know the music is absolutely horrendous but you accept it because of your altered state. But then you realize half way through the 30: minute piano solo that it’s really hard core elevator music that is slowly destroying your soul and that, if you don’t get off on the next floor, or, as soon as possible you’ll be completely desensitized and like their predecessor “the grate- full dead’s,” name suggests your soul will be exactly that. “DEAD!” And you will be blissfully grateful, somehow. With out a mind without a heart and without a soul, your are successfully desensitized. Soon you find that nothing belongs to you any more. You’ve lost all control and as your body begins to move uncontrollably, swaying to the grotesque sounds of a faintly recognizable melody you are fed this illusion of ultimate bliss. And once your body engages into full jelly fish mode you start to realize the puppet strings are fully attached. This is not the dance of the free jelly fish but of the senseless puppet. Twitching and bouncing around as if to testing the possibilities of total control. One hand goes up as your body pops and sways one hand goes down. Now, Both hands rise and fall and your eyes roll back and you gaze ever long into the crowd and allow you mind be fully engulfed into this rhythmic trash. Pretty soon the transfer is complete and you’re hugging a tree, wearing tie die and settling for low fives or eve high fours with hairy legs, GROSS! 🤮
