Our Executive Chef is extremely passionate about Vietnamese cuisine and about Anise®. She believes that if she puts her heart in everything she does, then customers will see it in her food, and everything will work out in the end. Vietnam, the country, is longer than the state of California but about 20% smaller in total area, which means it is a lot narrower; yet 40% of Vietnam is mountainous, wh

ich makes it extremely difficult to traverse resulting in highly diverse food culture. It is ironic that as popular as Vietnamese food is, most Americans only know of the same few Vietnamese dishes that are offered by the typical pho restaurants. Our Chef wants to change that; it is her aim to introduce Anise®’s customers to more that Vietnamese cuisine has to offer by introducing eclectic but extremely tasty Vietnamese dishes that one cannot normally find in any archetypal Vietnamese restaurants.

Meet KB Slaughter. KB plays for the Denver Onyx Rugby team, which won the Legacy Cup in the Women’s Rugby Premier League Championship. She also represented the USA Women’s National Team and was the first woman rugby player to be inducted into the Life University Athletics Hall of Fame. KB is also a regular at Anise.

You can call it Queen of the Night, Dutchman's Pipe Cactus, or in Vietnamese "Hoa Quỳnh", but it is one of the rarest of all flowers. It only blooms at night and only under the right conditions; and apparently it only blooms once a year. Supposedly one of the most expensive flowers, it was also featured in the movie Crazy Rich Asians. At Anise, we are not crazy rich Asians, but we have one Dutchman's Pipe Cactus at the restaurant and were lucky enough to witness the Queen of the Night bloomed last night.

PS: The bud still looks really good, so we’re dying to see if it will bloom again tonight.

2024 Olympics

The 2024 Olympics is finally here! The Opening Ceremony is going to be unlike any others. It's the first one to not take place inside a stadium and the parade of athletes will be via boats on the river Seine. This is not to mention a star-studded cast of performers. Where is the best place to watch the Opening Ceremony? Why, at Anise of course! Come to Anise this Friday at 7PM and enjoy the Olympics Opening Ceremony in stereo Parisian style via one of our large screen TVs.
