This community continues to leave us speechless. Over the course of one week, we were able to raise over $15k for a beloved chef's family. On behalf of the team at 12@Madison and the Foster family, we thank you for your support! cc: our friends @ Project Angel Heart

12@Madison closed in March, and the owner is auctioning off its art to help the family of Brandon Foster.

The clock is ticking, friends! Get those bids IN.

This is the last day of our auction to benefit the family of Chef Brandon Foster, and for you to own a piece of 12 @ Madison created by local artist Jonathan Saiz!

On behalf of Chef Jeff Osaka, we thank you all for your support and generosity!

When our very own Chef Jeff Osaka made the difficult decision to close 12 at Madison, there was one silver lining – Jonathan Saiz donated close to 100 pieces of artwork that had been featured in the restaurant. In turn, Osaka has announced that he will auction them off with 100% of the proceeds going to Chef Brandon Foster’s family. The auction will start today, Monday, July 13th at noon through Friday, July 17th at midnight. Hosted on 12’s page, those interested can comment with their bid with the painting going to the highest bidder when the auction closes. Bidding starts at $50 and there are 88 paintings in total. Proceeds go to a good cause, so bid high and bid often!

😢 a message from Chef: "It is with a heavy heart that my business partner and I have made the decision to not reopen 12@Madison. Our quaint Congress Park restaurant was designed to thrive on intimacy - from shared small plates to human interactions. That model is just not sustainable for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned as we hope to offer some pop-ups and private dinners but for now, we say farewell.

It's been a difficult week for the restaurant industry. Our own Chef Jeff Osaka shared his personal story with the The Colorado Sun. You can read it here:

I’ve been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, and 12 of those have been here in Colorado, a place I am proud to call home.

We are sorry to announce...

"Heading in to this situation we really wanted to find a way to make it work and adapt to this new reality but as we know, it seems like things are changing by the minute!

So after a lot of consideration, discussing with other industry leaders, and figuring out what it would it take to reopen - I've had to make the difficult decision to close all of my concepts including Sushi-Rama, Osaka Ramen, 12 at Madison and The Empire Lounge & Restaurant until we're through restrictions related to COVID-19.

This is one of the most difficult decisions I've had to face in my 30 years in the industry, and as a proud member of the Colorado's hospitality community, I know we will persevere. It is this belief that will set us up to best serve everyone - our staff and the public - in the future."

From our family to yours, a message from Chef Jeff Osaka:

To our valued guests-

Since the very beginning, the health and well-being of our guests and restaurant family has always been part of our core values. With the recent news regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), this has become more important than ever.

To keep our restaurants safe, we are following the guidelines and safety measures from only trusted sources: Locally, The Colorado Department of Health & Environment, and nationally, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

As our entire team has created measures to keep everyone safe, we ask for your cooperation as well. If you have any doubt of how you are feeling, we ask that, for your protection and the protection of others, please join us when you can fully enjoy your experience with us. Other dining options are available at some of our stores: We use DoorDash for delivery service with all our Sushi-Rama’s and phone orders for take-away are options at Osaka Ramen and The Empire Lounge & Restaurant. Whether you choose to dine with us, take advantage of our other options, or choose to visit us another time, our staff and I are here to serve you.

From our family to yours, we thank you.
