A Few Changes: New Online Store, New Hours and Social Distancing

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

First, let us say thank you. Thank you for supporting our staff, our business, and the community which we’re all part of. Letting us be a part of your daily lives is a real honor and privilege, and for every one of you who chose us, we are both humbled and grateful. Thank you!

Now we certainly don’t want to add to the barrage of emails you’ve been getting, but given the breakneck speed at which things can change and adjustments that need to be made, we’re inclined to think the occasional email is a good thing. We want you to know that we are constantly working on evolving our business model to meet your needs while emphasizing safety and efficiency.

So here’s what we’re doing:

We’re launching a new Online Store for takeout service at our St. Paul Street (2nd Street) location

The online store will allow you to order and pay for your drink(s) and/or beans in advance, thereby removing the touchpoint of the in-store payment system. It’s safe, efficient, and the ultimate social distancing tool. You don’t need to wait in a line to order, nor do you need to wait while you drinks are being made. Simply go to the online store, pick your items from the menu, craft your beverages using the dropdown modifiers, checkout and allow 15 minutes* for your order to be completed. Simply pick up your drinks at the patio bar**. You can order online by going to avianotakeout.com (http://www.avianotakeout.com) .

We’re extending our hours to benefit you and our staff

We’ve extended our hours at the St. Paul/2nd Street location to 5:00 PM daily. We’ll continue to provide the highest quality beverages and best possible experience, but now we’re doing it for an additional hour. The store will now operate from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, staffed by brave baristas committed to keeping our community safe and healthy.

Finally, In the face of this pandemic and if you’re so inclined, please give our heroic staff a positive shout-out on Yelp or Google Reviews. This is a stressful time for them as well, and in the face of the uncertainty we’re all experiencing, this team has shown themselves to be incredibly courageous while enthusiastically trying to provide others just one more hint of normalcy in their daily lives. They’ve taken all precautionary measures seriously, and are truly committed to keeping everyone safe. A nice review will make them feel good and alleviate some of the emotional fatigue they’re experiencing.

*Please allow 15 minutes drink preparation time. Hot beverage quality is time sensitive. Please pick up your beverage at beverage completion time. Aviano Coffee will not be responsible for decreased beverage quality resulting from customer failure to obtain in timely manner.

Our Latest News

Dear Customer,

We continue to remain committed to protecting you and our staff from the spread of COVID-19. Over the last few days, we’ve taken several precautionary measures in response to the virus and its impact on the public. While these precautions have worked well, we feel it’s important to further support local health officials in their efforts to curtail the spread of the virus as well as being socially responsible. This means implementing additional limitations on social gatherings and further encouraging the established guidelines on social distance.

Part of being a dynamic small business, is being able to quickly improvise and to adjust accordingly to these difficult circumstances. Based on community input, we’ve made the decision to continue our service, but with increased safety measures. Instead of temporarily closing, we’ll be making additional changes. Our goal is to enhance safety and further mitigate exposure to our staff and customers through an increased emphasis on social distancing and other processes. This will allow many of our customers to safely enjoy the coffee they love, as well as continue to support local small business at this difficult time. It also allows our staff to continue to work without the anxiety of potentially being exposed.

Beginning immediately, we will be making the following changes:

1. Our St. Paul Street store will remain open for take-out only.

2. We will temporarily close our Detroit Street location and divert customers to our St. Paul location. St. Paul Street store will be open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

3. We will limit the number of staff working to no more than three at any one time.

4. All orders and retail purchases can be made from our patio bar, which will be converted to a walk-up takeout window, the bar-width of which creates adequate social distance between staff and customer.

5. The St. Paul indoor café seating area will be closed to the public.
6. Patio seating will be closed to allow for the social distancing needed for take-out window.

7. We will continue to sell/serve coffee, tea, espresso and espresso based beverages as well as bulk coffee through our walk-up window.

8. We will increase our supply of retail beans at our St. Paul location to meet increased demand for home consumption. We’re attaching a coupon for $2.00 Off on your choice of beans.

9. We will be carrying half gallon Royal Crest Dairy and Oatly Oat Milk for retail purchase through our St. Paul location.

10. All payments can be made from patio using your credit or debit card, and handing card to staff member will not be necessary. If you have the ability to pay using a contactless method, that would be preferred. Cash is not accepted.

11. We will provide sanitation for POS prior to every transaction.

Safety Measures in Response to COVID-19

Dear Valued Customer,

To ensure our customers and staff stay safe and healthy during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we’ll be implementing new, but temporary practices while the threat of spread remains. Our number one priority during this time is the health and wellbeing of both you and your family, as well as our staff and their families.

Our goal is to significantly mitigate any risk of COVID-19 exposure to both you and our staff, and for you to feel safe when visiting either of our locations. We’re paying close attention to the information presented by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which issued the following guidelines to help minimize any potential health risk:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Stay home if you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a waste receptacle.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol based sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

The virus is believed to spread mainly from persons who are in close contact with one another (within approximately 6 feet), and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Based on the CDC guidelines listed above, here are some of critical steps we’ll be taking at Aviano Coffee to insure your safety:

Best Practices and Temporary Changes to Our Service Model – New Health and Safety Policy

We will only serve beverages in disposable cups while the threat persists.

We will not be using porcelain cups, glassware, silverware or plates while the threat persists.

We will not accept reusable personal cups while the threat persists.

We will enhance and increase the frequency of cleaning to sanitize all high-frequency touch-points.

We will provide hand sanitizer dispensers at cash wrap counter when available.

We will enable and require any staff member who is sick for any reason to stay at home.

We will continue to monitor, share and implement best practices with our staff, customers, other businesses and our Cherry Creek North community as a whole.

Best Customer and Community Practices for Health and Safety:

If you have questions about any particular bean offering, please ask one of our baristas or educators. They’re more than happy to assist you. We’re taking additional protective measures by providing small smelling samples of each offering in order to minimize handling of retail bags.

We do accept cash at our Detroit Street location, but if possible, please use your credit or debit card for all transactions. If you have Apple Pay or a contactless card, that is the safest and preferred method of payment.

Please limit exposure and reduce risk to our staff by disposing of your own waste. This includes cups, tissues and other used disposable items. Wastebaskets are conveniently located by the store exits.

We ensure sufficient stock levels of soap and paper towels in our restrooms, so please feel free to wash your hands upon arrival.

Please avoid wearing perfume or heavy scents. Many of our customers and staff with fragrance sensitivity find strong scents problematic and exhibit allergy-like symptoms. These symptoms can easily be confused for illness, including COVID-19.

Being a community hub in Cherry Creek North for the past 10 years, we’ve come to know many of you quite well. We’re all friends and family. But while the threat of spread persists, we ask that you please refrain from shaking hands with, or “high-fiving” our staff members.

Per CDC guidelines, please avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth. This greatly reduces the risk of infecting yourself and others.

Per CDC guidelines, if sneezing or coughing, please do so into a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue into the trash. If you do not have a tissue on your person, cough or sneeze into your arm and immediately wash your hands. Avoid coughing or sneezing into your hand.

If you aren’t feeling well or if you’re displaying any symptoms of illness, including minor onset coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath or fever, please do not visit either of our locations until you are feeling better. We’ll save a place for you, we promise.
