We offer food distribution programming and educational opportunities related to growing and cooking food, as well as overall wellness. We strive to be a community-driven organization, meaning that our goal is to have all programs led and implemented by members of our community or others from similar neighborhoods. We are successful when the youth, families, and communities we work with are empowered to feed, nourish and strengthen themselves and each other.

Amy was one of our Abejitas participants this year, and her family is deeply engaged in The GrowHaus’s programs. In fact, Amy’s sister was one of this year’s facilitators for our Seed2Seed program!

During one of our Abejitas activities, Amy and the other participants planted beans to connect with food origins and the living world. A few weeks later, Amy’s family sent a joyful photo to our Community Wellness Education and Engagement Manager, Brenna, with Amy proudly holding her sprouted bean. This moment is not only heartwarming; it’s a powerful symbol of how lessons from Abejitas can grow and last long after the program ends. By nurturing a single seed, Amy’s family is experiencing firsthand how our teachings can inspire lifelong curiosity and care for nature.
