12/14/2020
I realize this post is long over-due but with 2020 finally coming to an end I wanted to chronicle the occurrences over the past year. We closed up shop at 1647 Court Pl. Sean and I had continued to work the first month or so of the pandemic and then in March our mother, Caroline, fell ill. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized and we decided it would be best if we didn’t risk illness ourselves, so we could continue to see her. On April 8th she passed. Those of you that know us personally understand the blow this was to our family and what she meant to me and my brother. She built a very strong foundation within us and although nothing will ever be the same, it’s important to do as she always told us and “love each other.” We both feel very lucky to have had our mom for 30 years and we are focused on the continuation of our individual families and family as a whole.
The duration of summer the shop stayed boarded up due to the riots and via less than amicable legal confrontation with our mother’s ex-business partner, the South Broadway and Yale location was sold and we now have absolutely no connection or affiliation of any sort. We maintain integrity in all we do and refuse to condone capitalization on tragedy.
We decided to close the Pizzeria permanently at our location. Sean and I thought it would be best since our landlord was uninterested in establishing a lease for longer than a month to month basis. No hard feelings and they were super patient with us throughout the process but we need to look to our future.
I know at least some of you (myself included) need to eat! I really miss breakfast sandwiches every day…. But Sean and I are taking on a business partner and will be moving into a Cloud Kitchen where we will be able to do deliveries exclusively. Tentative move in date is January 15th and you’ll be able to order from our website. Everything is in transition so there isn’t a ton of relevant info at the moment, besides that we’re waiting, ready and eager to get back to work. I just didn’t want any more time to pass before I reached out and talked about the super awesome sweet year we’ve all be having.
