is currently working in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Last week Hurricane Grace covered the beaches in Sargassum. Pangaea staff and volunteers have been working to clear the beaches of excess Sargassum before it decays.

Help us bring back the Backpacker! As you know, we’ve been unable to operate since the end of May due to a severe staffing shortage. Not only has this been a major disappointment for our loyal customers.. it has also severely impacted Pangaea World Foundation, our owner. As you may know, all profits and customer donations from our cafe go directly to fund and support Pangaea’s projects around the world. To help make up for lost funds during our temporary closure, we are asking for your help! We have launched a virtual hike-a-thon and trail clean up event to help raise funds for Pangaea’s projects, and to help us reopen. The link to donate or register to hike is in our bio!

Help bring us back!

As you know, Coffee for People has been unable to operate since the end of May due to a severe staffing shortage. Not only has this been a major disappoint for you, our loyal customers, but this has severely impacted Pangaea World Foundation, our owner. All profits and customer donations from CFP directly go to fund and support Pangaea projects around the world.

While we work to figure out a solution for CFP LoHi so we can get back to serving you Backpacker Burritos, 14er smoothies, and endless oat milk lattes, we are asking for your help.

To make up for some of the lost funds during our temporary closure, we are launching a virtual Hike-A-Thon and Trail Clean Up Fundraising Event that will also help us re-open soon.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go support to Pangaea's Change for Changemakers Grant Program. This program provides resources for researchers, scientists, journalists, and humanitarian workers to help stop the exploitation of people, animals, and the environment.

Proceeds will also be used to help support the future of Coffee for People, which through your purchases would have provided over $200,000 this year in grant funds and resources to help rescue the suffering through Pangaea World Foundation.

If you can't squeeze in the time to participate in the hike-a-thon, we would love it if you could share about this cause on your social media (follow the link above) and donate $25 (the average price of a trip for two to CFP) to help with our latest project that was relying on the funds from Coffee for People. If everyone on our customer email list donates $25, we will reach our goal of $50,000. This will help fund the students and grant recipients in Puerto Morelos, Mexico and help us rescue the Mesoamerican Reef and its sea life population, which are being destroyed by pollution, hotel development, and sargassum overgrowth.
