Thank you 🙏🏽 for choosing to receive the Community Award at last night’s 2nd Annual Gayla 💜 This award means so much particularly because we are truly in community with Joy As Resistance and the hundreds to thousands of people we serve together. We were honored a year ago to have you join us literally here on Quince Street and since then we have shared in radical, untethered, ever-expansive JOY. Cheers to another year ahead of growth and love.

Thank you from your local Black owned, Black operated, Black roasted coffee house 🏡 Each of you has sustained us as we continue to flourish in our community, especially the Black families and communities that raised us. We are honored to hold such a special place in time and space and not a day goes by that we don’t give credit to those who see us and believe in us. Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧 🏮🐍
Lunar New Year is 15 days which begins with the new moon on the 29th and ends with the full moon on February 12th. 2025 is the year of the snake!🐍 So for this time period, we will offer our Snake Special - a large peppermint and pistachio latte or matcha for $6 🍵 ☕️ 🍃

Snakes shed their skin so are known for transformation. They are adaptable, intuitive, and mysterious observers full of passion and creativity.
The zodiac cycle returns every 12 years so the most recent years of the Snake include 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, and 1965. For Snakes, the numbers of 1 and 8, red and black, the directions of west and south bring good luck.

We encourage everyone to participate in local celebrations and especially the one on February 8 hosted by our neighbors and Otaku Clan with support from the 🎊

Liberation is Local is a community forum designed to “Anchor in radical imagination through a collective practice of abundant articulations - describing what liberation looks and feels like with our words, poetry, and feelings.”
