Ugly Rugger: Your Craft Beer Comrade

Vision Statement:To bring people together using craft beer and food. Mission Statement: The Ugly Rugger guarantee: Ugly Rugger is based on open-mindedness. It exists to invent new brews and to keep customers on the edge of innovation. We value originality, innovative thinking, community improvements, and relationships with patrons. Our vision is to use craft

beer to bring people together through new experiences with beer. Our open-mindedness and creative-spirit are the keys in providing consistent attractive returns on investment and quality relationships with our customers. A little bit about how Ugly Rugger came to form:
Over a year ago, we began brewing homemade beer. Something that was a hobby between the two of us, turned into a possible business endeavor. After the first dozen batches we began brain-storming ideas for our future brewpub. It was a pipe-dream in the beginning, but after a weekend of brewery tours in San Antonio we became determined to spread our passion for craft beer through our own creative new business idea. It was a stout that was strong and dark so it came to us naturally as Ugly Rugger. A few months later we decided to make that the company name because of the potential of the creative message, and the influence rugby had on our lives. Our goals for the company are to spread the love of craft beer through our relationships with our patrons and to create an environment at the brewpub that allows for creative thinking and innovative inventions.

We love this guy, could not have said it better ourselves on why InBev and MillerCoors really hurt the industry! They saturate the market with cheap "craft beer" after they buy up breweries. Before buying your next "craft beer" make sure it is really craft and that you aren't supporting "the man."

Come by and check out this new take on Lakewood's Temptress. Show your support for local breweries!

Tapping in Lakewood Brewing Company French Quarter Temptress this Friday at 7pm. Try this delicious French Quarter inspired beer and take home an awesome glass.

French Quarter Temptress- "We barrel-aged coffee beans, coining it Operation B.R.E.W. (Beans Resting, Enhanced by Whiskey.) Using one of our spent Bourbon Barrel Temptress barrels, Noble Coyote aged green Peruvian Cajamarca coffee beans for four months, which imparted subtle notes of bourbon to the beans. Once the beans were ready, Noble Coyote roasted the coffee and we added it to the beer along with a touch of chicory for some additional spiciness and complexity to give it that “signature” New Orleans taste."
