October is the best time of year to golf at Majestic Oaks. The fairways get firm, and the oak trees that gave the course its name add color to every tee box. We are open daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. A late afternoon round in this light is worth a Saturday.

🎃 Halloween fun is coming to Lake Lawn Resort!

Join us Sunday, November 1, for an afternoon of family-friendly Halloween fun, from dancing and games to a little trick-or-treat adventure around the resort!

Family Halloween Party | 12–2 PM
Enjoy music and dancing with Koz’s Entertainment, a roaming magician, Ring Toss, a costume parade, and costume contests for kids, families, and groups.

Resort-Wide Trick-or-Treating | 2–4 PM
Bring a treat bag (Lake Lawn bags are available while supplies last) and follow the Halloween map to trick-or-treat at designated stops throughout the resort!

Admission is complimentary, and the event is open to resort guests and the public. Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Families are encouraged to pre-register at no cost.

There was a ballroom here once, and it was a special place.

Built in 1929, Lake Lawn Resort's ballroom welcomed some of the top touring orchestras in the country over the next two decades. During the big band years of the 1930s and 1940s, a Saturday night on Delavan Lake meant live music, a name band, and a hardwood dance floor.

The ballroom came down in 1978, marking the end of an era. But the tradition outlasted the room. Almost a century after that ballroom opened, Saturday nights at Lake Lawn still bring live music to the resort. Today, you can find it at The Lookout Bar & Eatery.

Fewer engines, more reflection. The Marina in October is a different operation than it was in August, and the light sitting on the water is the best it gets all year.

Slips, service, and winter storage all happen here (watersports rentals run out of Lakefront Landing, about two miles away). This is the week to settle what your boat is doing until spring.

Nobody really likes a windowless meeting room. Lake Lawn Resort puts groups in lakefront meeting and banquet spaces on 250 acres, where the break can happen outside on the water instead of in a corridor.

Association conferences, board retreats, class reunions, and faith community weekends all work here, and the rooms, meals, golf, and spa are all a short walk apart. Fall and winter dates are open.

Step aboard the Lake Lawn Queen on Friday, October 30, for our Haunted History Cruise with American Ghost Walks. This 90-minute cruise on Delavan Lake explores historic shoreline properties, circus-era tales, unusual events, and unexplained stories from the lake’s past, including a few connected to Lake Lawn Resort itself.

Sue Phelps has run our gift shop for thirty years, and she measures the time in people rather than seasons. "I have seen newborns graduate college," she says, which is what happens when the same families come back to the same lake for three decades.

She was hired with no retail experience whatsoever (she had been a bartender), and she does all the buying herself now. Stop in and say hello. She is very good at remembering people.
