We had a great day at B’s on the river Rib Fest.
We didn’t get the results we were looking for. We ended up coming in 13th place. We’ll change a few things and hopefully improve the next competition.
Thank you Scott, Finch, Shannon and Nicole for all your help. I would also like to thank all the friends and family that showed up.

We had another great day yesterday at our last contest of the year. (Maybe) It was a little warm to be standing by a bunch of hot smokers, but it was worth every minute! It was great that friends and family showed up to cheer us on and support us!! Sheri and Nicole even helped us out with decorating our table with flowers and the skeleton so we can get better appearance points!! (They did know we got scored on appearance of ribs and not out table)
I bet your wondering how we ended up, well we were climbing up by one place on each contest but this time we stayed in 3rd place. It would have been nice to end the year with a win, but we’ll practice now over winter and maybe change a couple more things up. It might be time to get a bigger smoker and up grade a few things.
Thanks again to everyone that has showed up and supported us. And a big Thank You to Eric Finch, Scott Cox, Joel Lemke and Emil Finch for all your help yesterday. I couldn’t have done it with out you help. And a big Thank you to Shannon for all her help and support. Your the best!!!

We had a great time yesterday in New Auburn MN at the Dickie Bob’s Rib contest. We keep moving up!! This time we finished 3rd and got into some money. Not to bad for our 3rd contest. Again we learned a few more things and hope we move up again at the next contest.
It was fun to have another team from Delano there and we were hoping to both finish in the top three. But the judges had other ideas. In my opinion they had great ribs and should have been in there.
Thanks for all the help again Eric Finch and my brother Scott made it out to help us out!! Shannon, Dani and Sheri Cox came down to lend a hand and to support us too. You are the best!!!

Smokin’ Cox BBQ team had a great time yesterday at the Sibley County Fair. The morning was full of rain showers but the afternoon noon the clouds departed and ended up be a nice afternoon.
We keep moving closer to #1. Yesterday we finished 4th overall a little under 3 points out of 1st.
Thanks to Eric Finch, Matt Lemke, Joel Lemke, and John McClay for all your help yesterday. I couldn’t have done it without you guys!!!

Smokin’ Cox BBQ competed in our first rib contest this weekend. We did not do quite as well as we hoped. We ended up finishing just outside the money in 6th place out of 23 teams. But we learned a lot and are ready to do a few more this year yet.
Big thank you to Todd Balsiger for filling in for Eric Finch. Eric’s grandmother passed away and was attending her funeral. And couldn’t even come close to doing as well as we did without the help of Troy Schmidt.
Last but not least thank you to all the friends and family that showed up to support Smokin’ Cox BBQ!
