With all the rain and humidity, we're watching everything grow right before our eyes! Every morning the kids do a "garden check" to see what changed overnight. And it's truly remarkable to see how fast plants grow and change this time of year. Also...the pasture daisies are blooming and our family loves when the pasture daisies are blooming. 🙂
Summer appears to be here to stay. Last night we took a steamy walk up to the highest point of our farm where there's a small piece of remnant prairie and a few wild strawberries. We discovered some beautiful spiderwort last year and wanted too see if it was blooming. The report: Spiderwort is close to blooming and the wild strawberries are ripe! After the ease (and fun!) of picking berries at our local strawberry farm last night, we really enjoyed the treasure hunt that wild strawberries provide.
This week's pizza menu features local ingredients such as arugula (thank you, Sweet Season Farm!), sugar snap peas, basil and asparagus. Favorite pizzas such as the Margherita, Iowa Margherita and Holy Pepperoni are back on tap and we've cooked up a new one that we're calling "Spring Green" and it very much captures the flavors of early summer.
We blinked and somehow our first live music event of 2026 is less than 3 weeks away! There are still tickets available for The Lowest Pair / Little Fevers Sunday Session on June 28th and we'd love to see you! We plan to stop selling tickets on Sunday, June 21st which means you have 10 days to snag them!
We look forward to seeing you here this weekend or whenever life allows you to join us here on our small farm.
P.S. There will be a film crew here this Friday! Let's show 'em how we pizza farm!
