Yellow Cab Tavern

We had the privilege of having J. Todd perform at our place many times over the years. We are so sad to hear of his passing 😢 It won’t be the same without Golden Guy!

We're sad to share the news that J. Todd Anderson died of cancer in California, with his sister by his side. Best known as the Coen brothers' longtime storyboard artist, he also appeared in several films, including as the Victim in Fargo (a role that put him on the poster) and as the Comic Store Clerk in Paul. A diverse storyteller, he directed two features, published a book of his storyboards for The Big Lebowski, co-hosted Filmically Perfect on WYSO, and wrote the words and music for the pop musical Nativity. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Six years ago Sarah G. from Pepper Sprout Productions started weekly trivia here at Yellow Cab. Since then we have had so many wonderful memories and had so much fun. It’s impossible to sum up in one post what it has meant to us all these years. Thank you to everyone who has joined us and thank you to Sarah for everything!

Last night was the final Dayton Poetry Slam at Yellow Cab. I remember the first time they were going to have their show here. I was doing laundry at my mom’s house and got a phone call. Paige said Canal was closing and the slam needed at spot that night. I finished my laundry and headed over to the cab to get it ready for the night. Little did I know that it was just the beginning. We have now had years and years of amazing friendships, stories, laughter and tears. Members of the slam became like family and I am so sad that it has come to an end here. Thank you Johnathon Gallienne and Link for all of the amazing years!
