We’ve got some wonderful apricots from . We are excited to use them in something fun but be like Barb and go investigate before they are gone. Get some tasty fruit from them tomorrow at the .farmers.market.

Fun fact: our goofy brewery cat Barb was first a barn kitten at good humus before she came to live with us.

Our collaboration with Davis is for Everyone IPA is back, fresh, tasty and inclusive. Seems like we have to say this more now than ever, but Dunloe is a community space. That was the whole goal from day one, bringing people together around beer. All are welcome, but we don’t tolerate hate in any form.

We had the privilege of brewing the winning beer from this year’s UC Davis Iron Brew Competition. I have been involved with the competition for over 10 years, starting back when I was a student hoping my groups beer was good enough to win. It wasn’t, but Bananaweizwen was, and it will be on tap at The Local starting today. Cans available at both locations.

Bananaweizen is light and smooth, with bright citrus notes, somehow a bit of pineapple, and of course some banana aromatics from the yeast. No bananas were harmed in the making of this easy drinking Hefeweizen. Congratulations again to the winning group!

The time has come for the changing of the box. It took almost two and a half years, but Barb finally lounged the old one too far. If you have never met Barb, she’s the goofy brewery cat. She was raised by dogs and is a bit confused if she is a dog or a cat, but either way she must have her box on the bar after closing.

We won four medals at the last week. As you may know, we are a bit awkward. So here’s Arrow wearing them so we don’t have to.

Bronze for Dunnies Light in American Light Lager
Bronze for Rocket Surgery in Helles/Exports
Gold for Two Birds Stoned in Other Yeast Beers
Gold for Middle of Somewhere in Wood and Barrel Aged Sour Beer.

Both sours were made with fruit from the wonderful people out at and everything but the Rocket Surgery was made with California grown grain malted down in Alameda by Well Dunnies is half Admiral, but that’s still pretty cool

Slow & Sniffy, a passion fruit and key lime sour made it into cans. A 50/50 blend of 3 month, all stainless, mixed fermentation beer, and the same base beer that spent a year in oak. Named for one of the many dog walk loops we have. North levee, old Davis, short or long loop, the alleys… or slow & sniffy. It’s the one where you get home late and you don’t really want to, but you really should for both you and your dog. Walking slow and just enjoying all the simple quiet while your dog sniffs everything. That’s kinda like this beer or something? It’s simple, but complex and smells pretty damn good. On tap at the Local and cans at both spots.

We made a beer with a bunch of cool people awhile back and it’s finally packaged. A simple IPA to build a bit of community in some weird times. Hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Citra, we get mango, tangerine and white gummy bear flavors packed into a smooth easy drinker.

The idea was you can’t always change the world, but you can change your circle or bubble. Each one of those circles was drawn by someone in the Dunloe circle or bubble. Friends, family or fellow brewers in pen, pencil or gigantic crayon, all for community and a bit of shenanigans.

Circles & Bubbles IPA is on tap and in cans at The Local, and will be out and about eventually.
