What a way to close out our 14th season with one of the best shows of the season!!! Thank you Mike (Psychsongs) Ward & Joy (Cultivate Joy) Zimmerman for your wonderful spirits, stories and amazing heartfelt and humorous songwriting: "Paul", "Let Them Be Loved", "Bob & Me", "Pet Peeves", "Bean", "Plant a Tree" and many others; such GREAT songwriting. Also, some Irish fiddles tunes and some sing alongs, including Blackbird and Stand By Me, which included some impromptu dancing in the aisle. And thanks to their spouses, Angie Ward & Linda Dill, for helping to set up and break down and to manning the merch table. Stay tuned for next year's schedule.

Absolutely LOVE this new video of an old Steve Earle song, "City of Immigrants ". This is part of my faith and part of the Baptismal Covenant in the Episcopal tradition: "Will you strive for justice and peace for all people, and respect the dignity of all human beings?" People: "I will, with God's help."

The scheduled performance for Low Lily (lowlily.com) on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 pm is now SOLD OUT! However, you can still get on the wait list by going to the Events link at our website (deercreekfolk.com).

With the energy of fiddle music, the introspective quality of contemporary folk, the precision of bluegrass, and the drive of Americana, the members of Low Lily (lowlily.com) combine their individual talents into one stunning soundscape. The trio has deep roots in the fiddle and singing traditions of North America and the Celtic diaspora. For their April performances, the core couple of Low Lily (Liz Simmons and Flynn Cohen) will be joined by fiddle and banjo player Elsie Gawler (the Gawler Sisters) of Maine.

Suggested donation is $20 for adults and $5 for youth (13-21). Only cash and checks made to Deer Creek Coffeehouse (deercreekfolk.com) are accepted. Reservations can be made through the venue website. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Baked goods and non-alcoholic beverages sold for a nominal fee.
