This is a picture of one of the “nasty” things my dad would eat when I was a kid. Anytime we were in Kentucky or Tennessee he’d pick up a jar or two for home. I never understood his fascination with it until I got older. I made a batch of this for last weekend’s event and people loved it (I did too)! The only issue was I had to explain to folks what chow chow was. I never realized that we might be just a little further north than this southern staple has become know. This is a zesty version with some jalapeños added. We will be adding it to our rotating menu items!
