Meet Tony & Katie, the faces behind Cuppa Yo Madison. 🍦
For 21 years, the family moved from town to town with the Marine Corps, and every single time, one of the first things they did was find the local froyo spot. "It was our family thing." When they landed in Madison, AL, that tradition hit a wall. The nearest froyo was 25 minutes away, and on a 40 degree day in January, when Tony took their daughter Savannah all the way out there and saw every kid from her school in line, something clicked. "It was that day we realized there was absolutely a need in our community."
So they did something about it. Two and a half years later, Tony & Katie opened their own Cuppa Yo, bringing the froyo spot Madison never had right into the heart of their community. Today, Tony runs the day-to-day while Katie balances ownership with her career as a Project Manager. Veteran-owned and proud of it, they also mentor their young staff with the same work ethic the Marines instilled in them. "It is so rewarding when you see their growth."
But ask them what the best part of ownership is, and the answer is simple: the people. "Everyone leaves with a smile and a real sense of family... and that feeling is beyond measure." Their regulars love them so much, they've even been invited to a wedding. 👰🤵 And their advice for anyone thinking about opening a location? "Don't open just one, make it 2." 😄
