🌊🏄♂️ Do you remember "Hole in the Fence"?
Long before Dana Point became the destination it is today, locals and surfers spent their days at Doheny Beach and the area affectionately known as "Hole in the Fence." It was a simpler time—surfboards on car roofs, sandy feet, endless summer afternoons, and a tight-knit beach community.
Right across the street, Olamendi's was becoming part of that story.
For more than 50 years, we've welcomed generations of surfers, beachgoers, families, and friends looking for authentic Mexican food after a day in the sun. Many of our guests first came here as kids and now bring their own children and grandchildren.
The waves may have changed, the town may have grown, but the feeling of gathering around a table with family and friends remains the same.
Here's to the surfers, the beach lovers, and everyone who remembers the days of Hole in the Fence. 🌴🌮🍹
Were you part of the Doheny and Hole in the Fence crowd? We'd love to hear your memories in the comments!
