Okayyyy yโ€™all finally wore me down ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’›
Weโ€™ve been getting asked about this custom tent for MONTHS so hereโ€™s the tea...

This setup was under $600.

And before anybody thinks we started like this... absolutely not ๐Ÿ˜‚ We started with basic setups, figured out what worked, made mistakes, made sales, THEN upgraded.

When we first started vending, there was no custom tent, no fancy setup, and definitely no huge budget ๐Ÿ’›

One thing I wish more beginner vendors knew... you do NOT have to start glamorous.
Start with what you have. Learn your market. Build your process. Make sales. Upgrade as you grow.

But when you ARE ready to level up your setup, that doesnโ€™t automatically mean spending thousands either ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

This custom tent ended up being under $600 and completely changed our visibility at events.

Some days I still have to stop and remind myself how far weโ€™ve come. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ‹

This event ended up surprising us!

In just 3 hours, we sold 150 lemonades with just my husband and me running the booth... and our two kiddos along for the ride. ๐Ÿ’›

Was it chaotic?

Absolutely. ๐Ÿ˜‚

But moments like these remind me why we keep showing up, even on the exhausting days.

Building a business while raising a family isnโ€™t always easy, but itโ€™s been one of the most rewarding things weโ€™ve ever done.

Would you believe me if I told you there were times we wondered if anybody would even buy one lemonade? ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ‹

When I first started vending, I thought every successful vendor had a fully custom setup.

Then I started paying attention. ๐Ÿ‘€

A lot of vendors were using simple tents, homemade signs, printed banners, and DIY branding while they built their businesses.

You donโ€™t have to buy everything at once.

Our setup looked very different before our custom canopy, but those smaller upgrades helped us create a booth we were proud of while staying within budget.

Start where you are.
Make the sales.

Everyone sees the cute booth, the branded tent, and the finished setup... ๐Ÿ˜‚

What they donโ€™t see is the 24 hours before the event when Iโ€™m running around making lists, packing inventory, charging everything, filling coolers, double-checking supplies, and somehow still convinced Iโ€™m forgetting something ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Owning a business is fun... but nobody warned me about the pre-event chaos ๐Ÿ˜‚

Any other small business owners or vendors feel personally attacked by this? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

The joke is that he works for free ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The reality is Thirst Trap Lemonade wouldnโ€™t be what it is without him.

Most people see me behind the booth, but they donโ€™t see the hundreds of cups heโ€™s labeled, the tables heโ€™s carried, the coolers heโ€™s loaded, the late nights getting ready for events, or the countless times heโ€™s stepped in when I was overwhelmed.

Starting this business was my idea, but building it has absolutely been a team effort.

So yes... technically this is what zero dollars an hour looks like ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ‹

But Iโ€™m grateful every day that I have someone willing to help me chase crazy ideas.

Okay so this is something I think beginner vendors donโ€™t realize at first ๐Ÿ˜ญ

A busy event and a PROFITABLE event are not always the same thing.

Thankfully weโ€™ve been really fortunate to have a lot of successful events, but a huge reason for that is because we spend a LOT of time researching events before we commit to them ๐Ÿ‘€

Just because an event has thousands of people doesnโ€™t automatically mean those people are YOUR customers.

You really have to think about:
Who the event is actually attracting
The age range of the crowd
Family-focused vs adults only
Whether people there are actually spending money
And if your product even makes sense for that environment

A couple questions that can honestly tell you a LOT before booking:
1. โ€œWhat type of crowd usually attends?โ€
2. โ€œWhat vendors/products usually do well here?โ€

Because the right audience will almost ALWAYS outperform a random giant crowd ๐Ÿ˜ญ
