The War Figs are in rotation. Maybe you’ve seen the story of our friend Aswin that bought cuttings to Recipe OC from fig trees rescued from the Syrian war. Thankfully Cynthia Mulcahy nurtured them to bring fruit right here in Oak Cliff. The figs are now featured at several local shops. Here at Recipe Oak Cliff 🌱 , I made a raw vegan torte of sorts. Special because of the War Figs + butternut squash from our planters and basil from another friend’s Oak Cliff garden. It’s savory, slightly sweet and tastes like a rich blessing. ❤️❤️❤️
