When Kaedin came to Café Momentum, he was handed the same thing every intern is handed on day one: a real job, in a real kitchen and an ecosystem of support, a community that believed he was capable of more than his past. What he did with that chance is nothing short of remarkable.
During his time in our program, Kaedin:
Graduated high school
Completed his capstone project, the culmination of everything he learned along the way
Finished all four Tiers of Success, the full arc of our culinary, leadership and life-skills training
Purchased his own car, a milestone of independence he earned through his own hard work
And now, he’s preparing for his next chapter: enlisting in the U.S. Air Force
When asked about his time at Café Momentum, he put it simply: “The importance of recognizing a great door when it opens.”
Kaedin always knew he had it in him to step into his greatness. He just needed an open door.
