Olives on a gold pick, a caramel-laced rim, a hammered copper cup, one drink under its own glass dome.

The lineup never stays lined up for long — a hand reaches in, then another, and the row scatters to wherever the evening is headed. The deck at sunset. The armchair by the fire.

Cozy gets said about a lot of places. We’d rather show our work.

There’s something about a s’more that makes grown-ups act like kids again.

Maybe it’s the marshmallow held just close enough to the flame. Maybe it’s the way you have to lean in, laugh a little, catch the melt before it falls. Whatever it is, it turns an ordinary evening into one you’ll tell someone about later.
