Robert “Bobby” Lawrence Maxson, 67, of Cumberland, died May 18, 2026, at UPMC-Western Maryland.

Born September 7, 1958, in Cumberland, he was the son of the Jane (Iliff) Maxson and the late Robert “Bob” Maxson.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Brad Maxson.

Bobby had been a meat cutter, starting at Bob’s Market in Ridgeley. Currently, he was working at Bauer’s Premium Cuts & Deli.

Bobby was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins. He enjoyed watching them play each season.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Shayna, Kristen, Nikki, and Ashli; a sister, Jody Hershberger and husband John; brother Bill Maxson and partner Brandy; several grandchildren, a great grandchild, nieces, and nephews; and his partner Laura and her family.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from noon until 2 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM, with Pastor Dan Twigg, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Schwab Family Cancer Center, 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502 or to the Building Fund at Graceland Baptist Church, 5121 Frankfort Highway, Ridgeley, WV 26753
