Our community lost a truly special soul when a sudden seizure took Pete Basile from us far too soon. He was an integral part of our community, through his work at KBUT radio, his passion for softball and soccer, and as our beloved local celebrity bartender at the Secret Stash for 13 years. To honor his vibrant life and bring everyone together, we’re hosting a celebration of life Thursday June 25th and we are trying to raise eleven thousand dollars. Your contribution will help cover two amazing bands worthy of the occasion, rental of the Center for the Arts, party rentals, decorations, and other ancillary event costs. Any funds raised beyond the core costs will be split equally between the Epilepsy Foundation, KBUT community radio, and Crested Butte PROST - causes that were close to Pete’s heart. Every gift honors the incredible impact he made on all of us. Thank you for standing with our community through this difficult time. Any amount helps and will help us add up to that $11,000.00 number. Thank you so much ❤️

We lost a member of our Stash family.

Pete Basile was with us for 13 years and left a mark on this place that will never be replaced.

Pete was one of a kind genuine, funny, and someone who truly cared about every single person who sat at his bar. He knew that bar inside and out, a true professional and one of the best to ever do it (and Crested Butte knew it too).

He was loved by everyone coworkers, regulars, and first-timers alike. Whether he was cracking jokes, grabbing a mid-shift sweet treat, or making someone’s day a little better, Pete brought so much life into this place.

We feel incredibly lucky to have worked alongside him and to call him our friend.

Raise a PBR (or a Coca-Cola) for Pete.

We love you. Rest in peace 🤍
