"Marlo" is a combination of our names – Martin and Lorian – and we are a husband and wife team serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine in Crescent City! Hi everyone, we apologize for being unavailable for lunch this week. Our dream of getting a mobile food trailer finally came true only to be met with trauma and sorrow as we headed home from the Bay Area with our beautiful new food trailer. We had an accident just a few miles from where we picked up the trailer. We are so blessed and lucky to have come out of it with no physical injuries. It truly was amazing that more damage was not done. Our new trailer is a little banged up and will be towed home to us from the Bay Area, hopefully soon.

The CHP officers, the EMTs, the Fire Dept, and the tow truck drivers in San Rafael were incredible. Like superheros in real life. Just amazing people. The kind that make you feel safe in a dangerous world. One of them gave me a little Jesus figure that's in my pocket on our way home right now. A passerby named Richard stayed with us until help came. He and his German Shepard Lucy gave us comfort and distraction in the worst moment of our lives. Two separate cars with young women came to make sure we were ok -- one even gave a comforting hug and made sure the police were on the way. Even more lucky, we did not hit any other drivers as we swerved through 2 lanes and plunged into the ditch. If the light pole didn't catch us on our way down, we may have rolled the truck and gotten a worse fate. You don't know how bad something like this can be until it actually happens to you. Also, seatbelts!!! Mine saved me in more ways than I know.

As we make our way home to Crescent City, Martin and I are so grateful to be alive, to still be here for our children, family, friends, and everyone we love. We will see you soon.
