THE STORY BEHIND THE WOLVERINE 🍣

Some of the best things on a menu are the ones that were never planned.

Years ago, while a Wolverine movie was filming in New Orleans, a few members of the crew found themselves sitting in front of Chef Rodney at the sushi bar.

Instead of ordering from the menu, they gave him free rein — “Just make us something.”

So Chef did.

He put together a roll on the spot, they loved it, and the night went on.

A few days later, the same guys came back — and they wanted that roll again.

Then came the question: “What’s it called?”

It didn’t have a name. It wasn’t a menu item. It was simply something Chef had created for them in the moment.

So, considering who he had made it for, there was really only one name that made sense:

The Wolverine. 🍣

What started as a “just make us something” kind of night turned into a roll they came back asking for — and one we’re still serving today.🥢
