You don't have to race to join the fun!

Everyone is invited to come out to Pickwick Landing State Park on November 14 and enjoy the food trucks, cheer on our Pickwick Dam Tri athletes, and be part of the race-day excitement!

Even better, our participating food trucks, Savannah Sweets TN , Just Bite Me LLC, and The Outpost Pickwick Lake & Dam are giving 10% of their race-day sales back to the park. So grab something delicious, support the park, and help us cheer all the way to the finish line!

Come hungry. Come cheer. Come support Pickwick Landing!

September is here, so let's give a cheer for our latest Animal Ambassador of the Month: Mabel the Turkey Vulture! Show your support for Mabel and her feathered friends by making a donation today. Donations can be made by calling the Park Office at 731-689-3129 or visiting our website at https://reserve.tnstateparks.com/register/animalambassadorofthemonthPWLSP092026.

Some fun facts about Turkey Vultures:
🦅 Turkey Vultures are scavengers, which means they eat dead animals (or carrion) and play an important role as part of nature's clean-up crew!
🦅 Turkey Vultures have an incredible sense of smell that helps them to locate carrion.
🦅 When Turkey Vultures feel threatened by other animals or humans, they may vomit as a defense mechanism to keep these potential predators from getting too close.
🦅 Mabel has one of the most incredible rehab stories of all our resident raptors. Next time you are at the park, ask a Ranger about her or attend one of our weekly raptor feedings to hear her story.

Several of us just returned from the Park Management Conference at Montgomery Bell State Park, and wow… what an energizing experience! 🌟 It’s always inspiring to network, gather fresh ideas, get motivated, and spend quality time with friends from across Tennessee State Parks.🌲

We’re thrilled to share that we came home with some fantastic awards! 🏆
• Our golf course earned recognition for Customer Service Excellence ⛳🌿
• Shane, Assistant Manager at the Lodge, received the Servant Leadership Award for his incredible dedication and tireless work during Winter Storm Fern ❄️
• And our park as a whole was honored with the Excellence in the Visitor Experience award 🌞
Every one of these achievements was truly well-deserved — congratulations to all of the award winners across the state!

A huge shout-out to the Montgomery Bell staff, as well as all the planners and speakers, for delivering yet another memorable, top‑notch conference. Great people, great energy, great times! 🌳✨

Meet Rachel, Park Ranger, and Andy, Park Manager at Pickwick Landing State Park — the team behind the Pickwick Dam Tri!

With experience working and participating in endurance events across Tennessee State Parks, Rachel and Andy wanted to bring something special to Pickwick Landing. Their goal is to showcase the area's scenic beauty and history while giving athletes a safe, challenging, and memorable race experience.

Now, they're bringing that vision to life — and they can't wait to welcome you to the starting line on November 14!
