Giving News from 4 Spirits Foundation!
Each spring, 4SF invests in a highly deserving student veteran at both Western Oregon University and Oregon State University to receive an academic scholarship through the 4 Spirits Endowed Scholarship Fund.
This year, we are honored to award Fernando Fernandez of WOU, a Marine Corps veteran from a family deeply rooted in military service.
Following his Father’s example, Fernando served in the United States Marine Corps and deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve from 2014 to 2015. He concluded his service as a Sergeant of Marines, before working in defense contracting supporting the Navy and transitioning to Higher Ed where he serves students today. He is committed to the community through mentorship, outreach and direct engagement and believes that leadership and education are not just about self-improvement, but the ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Fernando graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Oregon University, Class of 2025, and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. Learning and development is not just about personal achievement, it is about honoring the sacrifices of those who came before him and becoming better equipped to serve others well.
