Hoegemeyer - pronounced Ho-guh-my-er - came about when considering names for our barbeque barn in Corpus Christi for several reasons: with a strong German heritage (and "Opa's" out of the equation), a need for something unique, and an aunt and uncle who had a German surname, we found our answer. We've got brisket, chopped beef, sausage, pulled pork, St. Louis style ribs and Baby Back Ribs, smoked

potatoes and more! The main building of Hoegemeyer's has had a storied past that we are still researching. We have found early aerial photos taken by Doc McGregor in the late 20s with the building in them. It appears that our building served as a boxcar-to-truck transfer house in its early days. More recently it has served as residence for Railroad Depot Antiques, and then Advanced Adult Daycare.

For the next few months Tancahua Street next to our restaurant will be closed while they connect it to northbound I37. For the time being it will be very difficult to reach us from Uptown.
The best way is to come down Belden St by the UHaul at Chaparral St. Or make your way from Whataburger Field / Port Ave towards us.
We're excited to have the new connection to I37 in a few months but that's going to take some temporary rerouting.

As the year winds down, we just want to say thank you. Whether you stop by every week or only once a year, we’re grateful for every person who walks through our doors.

If the holidays give you a little extra time, we’d love to see you. We’ll be open Monday & Tuesday, December 22–23, and again Monday & Tuesday, December 29–30. It’s a great chance to swing by during Christmas break.

Need help with a holiday meal? You can order brisket and sides for pickup on December 23 or December 30. We’re also happy to tuck brisket or ribs under the tree with a gift card, and our Cobblers in a Jar make easy, thoughtful “thinking of you” gifts.
