One thing I’ve noticed since opening Saucy Mamas is how many people tell me Corpus Christi really needed a place like this.

And honestly, I’m noticing tourists say the same thing too because they’re coming from cities where healthier food options are much easier to find.

Yesterday alone I had a vegan family in town for a graduation excited to find they had multiple things to choose from here, not just one lonely option on a menu.

Then later I spoke with a man in his 60s who’s trying to make healthier changes but feels overwhelmed because he doesn’t really cook and doesn’t know where to start. Once we started talking and he realized I’m a holistic nutritionist, I could almost feel him relax a little as I walked him through the menu.

And honestly, I think that’s part of what people are looking for now. Not perfection. Not diet food. Just a place where you can enjoy yourself, eat really flavorful food, and trust that the ingredients were chosen with your health in mind.

As a total Foodie with a culinary and holistic nutrition degree, it is such a thrill to create a menu for you to enjoy.

These last couple weeks of school feel like a marathon and I am definitely not a runner.

Ceremonies, graduations, storms rolling through (that thunder was intense), packed schedules, trying to keep up with regular life on top of all of it. Everybody just feels a little extra exhausted right now.

Whenever I grab food out, I want to actually enjoy it and not feel like I completely wasted calories eating it.

Honestly, that’s one of the reasons I’m so proud of what we serve here.

Thoughtful ingredients. No artificial colors or dyes. No seed oils. Just real food crafted intentionally.

A place where you can enjoy yourself, feel taken care of, and have the energy to get back to all you have to take care of. ♥️

FYI the Roasted Strawberry Balsamic Glow Bowl is only here for a limited time.

There’s a lot of depth happening with this one.

The dressing starts with roasted strawberries layered with balsamic, roasted pepper, and a little chili warmth. It’s perfectly sweetened without being too much.

Then the base is our Glow Greens mix, a curated blend of flavorful nutrient dense greens and microgreens topped with fresh summer strawberries, roasted turmeric sumac pepitas, red onion, fresh basil, cilantro, grape tomatoes, goat cheese, and our wildly addictive super seed crisps.

Fresh, layered, bright, savory, a little sweet. This one tastes like summer.

Even our hot honey is homemade.

Raw unfiltered honey, Calabrian chili, layers of spices, slow steeped flavor. Then we had organic lavender for another version.

It’s what gives our Crispy Pepperoni Hot Honey Ricotta pizza the balance people keep craving and what makes our Spicy Hawaiian hit so differently too.

And then there’s the lavender version on our air fried wings which somehow gives chicken and waffles energy without actually being chicken and waffles.

It’s these layers of flavor that gets people dancing at the table while they’re eating. I know because I walked up on a woman mid dance the other day.

The Crispy Pepperoni Hot Honey Ricotta was never supposed to become the main character but she’s absolutely having a moment right now.

Honestly, I think we all deserve a little main character energy sometimes.
