Pirates, ghosts, wild red-haired women, Indians, and cigar-smoking owners are all part of the colorful history of Blackbeard’s on the Beach. The building, one of the oldest on this spit of beach, has weathered its share of storms and mayhem over the years. Jumping salt shakers, spontaneously opening doors, eerie voices in the dark, mysterious knocks, and apparitions have been witnessed by employees, customers, and, recently, ghosthunters, who posted their findings at: www.ccspookcentral.com

Meanwhile, the Rock ‘n Roll Bar has grown from a few nostalgic albums into a mini-museum of rock ‘n roll artifacts which has spilled over into the back dining room. A prized album collection (including one signed by the elusive Cat Stevens), guitars signed by Eric Clapton and The Eagles, a poignant picture depicting a rare moment from the early Beatles (snapped by Paul McCartney’s late wife Linda), and even Chubby Checker’s instructions on how to do the twist are among the many treasures. Please feel free to look around while we’re preparing your meal. While we’re proud of our storied, eclectic history and collections, we’re even prouder to serve you some of the best food in the Coastal Bend. We look forward to serving you!

🖤 Remembering Our Founder, Steve “Big Guy” Bonillas, who would have turned 74 today!

A larger-than-life presence with a big heart, a big personality, and a vision that would become a beloved part of the Corpus Christi community, Steve’s hard work, passion, and love for people helped turn Blackbeard’s into much more than a restaurant. It became a place where friends gathered, families celebrated, stories were shared, and countless memories were made.

His spirit can still be felt throughout Blackbeard’s—in the stories shared around the tables, the familiar faces walking through our doors, and the traditions that continue today.

As we celebrate 35 years of Blackbeard’s, we are especially grateful for the man who started it all. His legacy lives on in every meal served, every toast raised, and every memory made at the Beach.

We miss you, we remember you, and we carry your legacy forward every day! ❤️🏴‍☠️ 🙌🏻
