I grew up watching my mom, Miriam, bake many wonderful creations in our Prospect Heights, Brooklyn apartment; she continued baking well into her 70s and remains my inspiration. Her cheesecakes were always my favorite. She started teaching me to bake when I was a tween, starting with mint brownies. I made many cakes, pies, cookies, blondies, etc., over the years, but never made a cheesecake until 2011—a 30th birthday cake for a work colleague, who I am still close friends with today.
Every one of my cakes is a unique creation you can’t find anywhere else (unless someone is using my recipe!). I originally started with recipes online and made alterations to make them my own, and now write my own recipes based on experience. Currently, there are 17 cakes in my repertoire, one of which is savory. Plus 4 are "coming soon" (I've written the recipe but not tested it out yet). My cakes are homemade—and look it. I am not a professional, especially when it comes to decoration. If you are looking for something that came from a bakery, I’m not for you. Thank you for your interest in commissioning a cake from me.
