If you haven’t already, stop in at Backgrounds this week and grab a baby bottle, fill it with loose change, cash or a check, and return it to Backgrounds by Saturday. All proceeds go to Lc Clinic to help fund their baby boutique!

Back in May, we celebrated Customer Appreciation Month, but with so many wonderful customers, we couldn’t possibly fit everyone into just one month. So we’re continuing to shine a light on the people who make Backgrounds such a special place. 🤍

Today we’re highlighting Kathy & Eva, who stopped in for lunch and chose some of our favorite warm-weather treats! Both ladies enjoyed a Chicken Salad Sandwich, while Kathy paired hers with a refreshing Blueberry Lemonade and Eva cooled off with a Raspberry Slushie. The perfect combination for a hot summer day! ☀️🫐🍋

Thank you, Kathy and Eva, for your support and for spending parts of your days with us. We love seeing friends gather around the table, share a meal, and make memories at Backgrounds.

👩‍🎨 She painted up several for us while she is currently in France. Thank you to all who came to her art show in April. All pieces are for sale.

She has created wall art, cards, and bookmarks. All showcase her distinct style of watercolor.

🇺🇸 SMALL BUSINESS SHOUTOUT SATURDAY

🦅 PATRIOT HAUL OFF - HOT SHOT SERVICES

🇺🇸 On Thursday, after the storm hit, Backgrounds was closed due to electrical issues and also so that our team could be of service to assist with cleanup efforts.

🇺🇸 At the Keefe’s house, while Sherry and Nick were starting the yard cleanup, a pickup with a lowboy pulled up and offered help. Out of the pickup came a man , his wife and their two children all ready to pitch in and help someone they didn’t even know. This family stayed and sawed, raked, and hauled branches and logs away for the next 7 hours .

Ironically, Dakota has been wanting to start a business of this type. Read below a little about him and his journey into the haul away type of business that is so needed as of this past week.

Our family highly recommends Dakota and his services. He was hard working, kind , considerate and watching the incredible example he was setting for his family was priceless.

Here’s his story:

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to own my own business. Growing up in Texas, I was raised to believe that hard work, honesty, and treating people right still matter. After a lot of dreaming, planning, and putting in the work, I’m proud to finally be taking that step. This business isn’t just about hauling junk or moving equipment—it’s about building something meaningful for my family. More than anything, I want my kids to see that dreams don’t just happen overnight. They take grit, sacrifice, and a whole lot of hard work. I want them to know that if you put your mind to something and are willing to work for it, you can achieve whatever it is you set out to do. Through this business, I’ll be offering haul-offs, junk removal, transports, vehicle towing, equipment moving, and helping move items from one place to another. Whether it’s clearing out unwanted junk, hauling off metal and garbage, towing a vehicle, or helping you move something too big to handle on your own, I’d be honored to earn your trust and your business. To those who choose to support a small, family-owned business, thank you. This is more than a job to me—it’s a dream I’ve had for a long time, and I’m excited to see where hard work, faith, and determination will take us. ☕🐵 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🐵☕

It’s time to rename one of our menu items!

Years ago, when Sherry’s son Roman was little, he asked for a caramel hot chocolate… but iced. Since our non-coffee hot drinks were called steamers, these drinks ended up being named “Iced Steamers.”

Well… we’ve all agreed that name doesn’t make a whole lot of sense anymore! 😂

These drinks are essentially our kid-friendly version of an iced latte—made with milk, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, strawberry, and other fun flavors, but without the espresso.

So we’re looking for a new name, and we want YOUR ideas!
