Okay, we're in the middle of packing for IC Pride (come see our booth downtown this Saturday!), but we were just reflecting on what a great time we had last weekend and had to share the gratitude. We didn't know what to expect with two new events and we ended up with full tables, great conversations, and lots of new people discovering Diversions!

Thank you to the powerhouse of community event planning, Bitchin' Events, for suggesting and planning another wonderful market. And hats off to the vendors who stuck it out on a windy afternoon -- some of them sell their work in our store, if you missed the market.

Shout-out to Jack Geneser for building and hosting a great PRG Tavern Night, a meetup for ttrpg enthusiasts of all kinds. We had over 25 people join us, and we already know of at least three groups who have plans to gather and game together after meeting at tavern night!

And to the folks who attended, purchased, yapped, laughed, gamed, ate, drank, or sat with us this past weekend -- thank you for making us feel like we rolled a crit success with our weekend of events.

Our Free RPG Day box arrived! Since this is our first year hosting, we're not totally sure what to expect, but we know there will be lots of free stuff given away, plenty of cool games to play, and new people to meet! You can sign up to GM, register for available games, and learn more about the day on our Aftergame event -- check the link in our bio!

If a day full of RPGs sounds like your jam, we also invite you to check out our RPG Tavern Night, a meetup of folks ranging from RPG-curious to lifelong players! This Saturday (6/13) from 6-11, join us to learn more about RPGs, see what Diversions offers for gaming options, and maybe meet folks who will join your next campaign.

We had a little head start to our June Jigsaw Jockeys Marathon, and these teams have already posted some solid times to the board!

Art School Confidential currently is leading the 4 Players AND 2 Player rankings, but there's an entire month for folks to come in and try to perfect their technique to move into first place!

Only $10 for your first try and then free with a purchase for any additional attempts!

And if you're not sure you want to try your luck at a 300-500 piece puzzle, we invite you to come test our newest speed puzzling option: Joust! We are testing this new format all month long -- all you need is two players and we'll provide the rest!

🏃‍♂️ Jigsaw Jockeys - Marathon
-- Our endurance speed-puzzling experience, where pairs or teams of four complete a puzzle as fast as they can, with the opportunity to re-try the puzzle as many times as they want to improve their time before the last day of the month. Just $10 for a first try!

🗓️ SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 3-5
⏱️ Jigsaw Jockeys - Joust (Trial Run)
-- Our NEW speed-puzzling experience, where jockeys face off 1v1 to complete 100 piece puzzles while timing their moves against game clock. The jockey with the fastest cumulative moves after two rounds wins the bout and can take on more challengers! As this is our first time running the event, entry is FREE!

🗓️ SUNDAY, JUNE 28
🔄 2-3 -- Puzzle Swap
-- Bring in your old puzzles anytime before 6/28 to get tickets to claim new (to you) puzzles at our mid-year puzzle swap! We also will dispose of any puzzles that may be missing pieces or might not be in great condition -- one less errand for you!

🏁 3-5 -- Jigsaw Jockeys - Race Day
-- Our classic team speed puzzling event! Teams of (up to) four race to complete a 500 piece puzzle against other teams, with all teams getting to keep their puzzle and the winning team getting a free round of drinks! Team passes are only $50!

💛 We didn't plan on being a puzzle space when we opened. We have learned a lot since opening, thanks to our incredible community and the resources and inspo from our DSM besties, Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe, who started us on the jigsaw journey. We are excited to see all these events in our lineup this month and we'll see you at the table!

We've been a little distracted getting all our ducks in a row for June, which is lining up to be a wonderfully busy month!

Whether you love our puzzle events, Blood on the Clocktower, learning new board games, or want to jump into the TTRPG scene here, there's something for you!

Looking for some special gifts for this colorful holiday month? We're partnering with Btchin' Events again for our summer edition of Bitchin' Market -- and we're expanding to our parking lot to host more vendors!

We'll also be out and about at Press Coffee Iowa City for Gaymers Gathering, Iowa City Pride's Pride Festival, and Iowa City Downtown District's Block Party!
