A few recent additions to the garden.

The bird bath and mushroom house were made by Samantha.

One of the things I enjoy most about innkeeping is creating little details that make the grounds feel special.

Forty days ago, we welcomed our first guest.

Since then, we've hosted travelers from 22 states and 4 countries, each bringing their own stories and reasons for visiting Cooperstown.

The best part of being innkeepers is the people we've met along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has chosen to stay with us so far.

Mom deer spent the entire day in our yard. We finally figured out why. She had a baby hidden nearby.

Zane knew something was up and spent the day protecting the chickens while keeping an eye on Mom.

Just another day at the Cooperstown Bed & Breakfast.

Samantha's Mom came to Cooperstown this week and helped us make family Italian cookies for guests 🍪

Along with tea, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and snacks around the inn, it’s one of those small details that helps a bed and breakfast feel personal.

Whether you’re visiting Cooperstown for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the Glimmerglass Festival, or a quiet Upstate New York getaway, we want the house to feel warm, relaxed, and welcoming.

Two-course breakfast at our Cooperstown bed and breakfast.

First course: sourdough coffee cake with orange, coriander, and pecan crumble. Fresh berries on the side, if you’d like.

Second course: gouda and smoked gouda frittata with peppers and red onion, finished with your choice of cilantro lime or roasted red pepper sauce. Served with maple sausage and toasted bread.

A slower kind of morning, just a short walk from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

Cooperstown, One Table at a Time: Mt. Fuji Sushi and Hibachi

If you’re planning a trip to Cooperstown and want something beyond the usual pub-style menus, Mt. Fuji Sushi and Hibachi is a convenient and easy option right on Main Street.

They’ve just reopened for the season after their winter closure, and it’s a place we’ve been waiting to try. It’s an easy stop if you’re spending the day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum or walking through the village.

We ordered a mix of rolls to get a feel for the menu:

Honey Moon Roll: spicy salmon and avocado inside, topped with yellowtail and jalapeño. This was the standout. It also included both salmon and tuna, which added a nice variety in flavor and texture. The amount of fish on top really stood out and made it feel more generous than expected. Balanced, slightly spicy, and one we’d order again.

Thunder Roll: spicy salmon, avocado, and crunch inside with spicy sauce on top. Flavorful and satisfying, though the crunch element was a bit subtle. It leaned more rich and soft than crispy, but still worked well overall.

Peanut Avocado Roll: a simple vegetarian option with a bit of texture, good as a lighter contrast to the specialty rolls.

Sweet Potato Roll: warm and comforting, and a reliable option if you’re avoiding raw fish.

One thing worth noting for visitors is the menu variety. There are quite a few rolls that include shellfish, and the hibachi side of the restaurant was clearly popular. Several tables around us ordered it, and both the portions and presentation looked like something we’d come back to try.

Since we’re allergic to shrimp, we appreciated that there were still plenty of options that worked for us without feeling limited.

Overall, the sushi was fresh and well-prepared. A welcome addition to Cooperstown’s dining scene and an easy choice when you’re looking for something different.
